Sheng-Ting Shih, 32, from Walnut, faces felony manslaughter and driving under the influences charges in the death of a Diamond Bar resident, George Derkrikorian, 23.

Shih faces three felony charges, including gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence causing injury, and driving with a blood alcohol level of .15 percent, nearly twice the legal limit.

Derkrikorian was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

His bail is set at $130,000 and his next court date June 5.

Danny Fields II, 27, of Clearlake crashed on April 15, 2012 and allegedly left the scene of the accident. The passenger in his car, 31-year-old Jennifer Clark of Clearlake, died.

Fields' vehicle went off the road and down the edge of the highway, hitting a tree.

He then allegedly left the scene and when he was taken to the hospital by his parents he notified the CHP that a collision had occurred.

The vehicle was discovered by sheriff's deputies less than 20 minutes after the crash was reported and Clark was pronounced dead.

Fields was booked into the Lake County Jail with bail set at $210,000.

Fields faces charges of vehicular manslaughter, felony driving under the influence, felony hit and run resulting in death or injury and driving on a suspended license.

The son of Hall of Fame motorcycle racer Bruce Penhall, who reportedly was killed by a drunk driver, was part of a contract crew working for Caltrans on the 10 Freeway in Baldwin Park, police said.

The son of Bruce Penhall, the former motorcycle racing champion and TV and film star, was allegedly killed by a drunk driver.

Connor McDermott Penhall, 21, of Corona, was struck about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday April 4, 2012 on the westbound side of the freeway where he was doing construction work as part of a contract crew for Caltrans.

The driver, Tatsuhiko Sakamoto, 37, of Arcadia, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, DUI and driving without a license.

A Chevy Suburban carrying three brothers crashed into a Honda sedan carrying a 40 year old woman and her eleven year old son after it ran a red light.

The eleven year old boy and one of the three brothers died Monday January 30, 2012. the other two brothers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police found beer cans and firearms in the Suburban, Authorities were not sure whether alcohol played a role but they are definitely looking into it.

Stacy Lonnberg, 51, a Gilroy woman, has been charged with murder of her husband and her daughter.

On January 14, 2012, Lonnberg allegedly drive drunk, rolled the family's Toyota pickup on Highway 85, killing her husband, 57-year-old Fred Lonnberg, and her daughter, 26-year-old Tiffiny Gillette. Gillette's 3 year old son was also in the truck but was not injured.

Lonnberg's blood alcohol level at the time of her arrest was 0.16, which is twice the legal limit.

Lonnberg was bailed out January 18, but she was rearrested Wednesday after the District Attorney's office charged her on two counts of murder and one count of child endangerment.

Lonnberg has been on suicide watch while in custody.

Lonnberg could be charged with murder if investigations revealed she had previously driven while drunk.

At the scene of the accident, Lonnberg admitted to officers she had been drinking, and officers reported she smelled strongly of alcohol.

Over the Christmas weekend, six people were killed statewide on the freeways.

A two car collision in Westwood that caused a death left a woman imprisoned on suspicion for driving under the influence.

Wilshire Boulevard was closed the morning of December 13, 2011 so that the crash can be investigated which occurred on Wilshire at the San Diego (405) Freeway around 11:15 p.m. Monday December 12, 2011.

The woman now sits in jail waiting to possibly be charged with a DUI.

Adam Mendoza, 21, has been sentenced to 15 years and 8 months in prison for a drunken driving crash that killed Izzy Raya,18, and Ralphy Naranjo,17. The families of the two victims were allowed to testify on Monday before Mendoza was sentenced. One of the victim's mothers brought his ashes to the trial and asked for justice.

According to prosecutors, Mendoza was drunk and high on methamphetamines when his SUV hit a light pole. The light pole fell on the SUV and crushed Raya and Naranjo, who were sitting in the back seat. A 17 year old girl was also in the car, she suffered serious injuries.

A 17-year-old boy was killed early Saturday morning in Pacoima while riding his bicycle, when a motorist struck him. Shawn Fields, 26, was driving a 2007 Saturn northbound on Laurel Canyon Boulevard when he struck the teenager. The impact threw the victim and his bike across the intersection.  He was transported to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. According to police, the motorist was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while driving under the influence of alcohol.

Gross vehicular manslaughter while DUI is one of the most serious charges someone DUI can face. Someone is charged with this crime if they are driving a motor vehicle in a reckless manner that is significantly more then ordinary negligence, and a person is killed. 3. The person committed a misdemeanor or some infraction or lawful act that might cause death with gross negligence; And,
4. The defendant's grossly negligent conduct caused the death of another person.
